Leap of Faith Gone Wrong: Lessons from My Failed Project and What's Next

After pouring my heart and soul into the development of Conscious Baboon, I have come to the difficult decision to call it quits.

Leap of Faith

After 17 years in the corporate world, I decided to take a leap of faith. It wasn't because I wanted to become an entrepreneur or a startup founder. Instead, I had the itch to solve: creating a balanced and sustained healthy lifestyle.

I wanted to create a tool to help people balance their mindset, nutrition, movement, and recovery. That's where Conscious Baboon came in - it wasn't just an idea anymore. It was becoming a reality.

I was almost ready to launch the app, but things did not go as expected, so I quit!

"Winners quit all the time. They just quit the right stuff at the right time." — Seth Godin.

I wondered if quitting Conscious Baboon was the right decision, but only time would tell.

I'll share the entire journey, including my mistakes and what I've learned, in the future.

Failure is Personal

It is a personal failure, not a public one. Nevertheless, it was a humbling experience that reminded me to keep my ego in check. Yes, I had lost, but I learned valuable lessons.

Although I had made peace with the possibility of failure before starting, I was confident and determined that this concept would succeed. But yeah! Things sometimes go differently than planned.

It is tough to call for a complete stop to everything - you cannot imagine.

The advice

If you ask me for one piece of advice I can share, it would be to surround yourself with the right people.

Be cautious about who you choose to share with and whose advice you choose to listen to.

You will encounter naysayers and people who doubt your abilities and efforts. However, remember that their opinions are formed based on their perspectives, experiences, and beliefs and are not necessarily a reflection of your own.

"If you want to make the wrong decision, ask everyone." — Naval.

The most competent people don't take this step because of the fear of failure, external validation, and judgment from others.

You must eliminate the noise and distractions around you to achieve your desired goals.

What's next

I am on a mission to help one million people achieve a healthy lifestyle through Conscious Baboon, a movement I have created toward this objective. With the right mindset and experience, I am excited about my next adventure.

As for the Superhuman Switch podcast, I am passionate about speaking with executives and founders who strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is inspiring for both myself and anyone who listens in.

This whole experience and journey helped me explore my five values: Courage, Growth, Adventure, Balance, and Freedom. These values now guide everything I do.

In another chapter, I'll share how I defined these values and how they guide me toward my next steps.

Until next time.
